authentic hadith collection, it is reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Satan flows through the son of Adam as blood flows.”
‘Abd Allāh, son of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, said: “I said to my father, ‘Some people say that a jinn does not enter the body of a possessed person.’ He replied, ‘My son, they are lying. Here it is, speaking through his tongue.’”
What he described is well known. A jinn possesses a man, who then speaks a language whose meaning he does not understand. His body may be struck with blows so severe that, were a camel struck with them, they would leave a tremendous mark upon it. Yet the possessed person is unaware of the blows or the words he utters. The jinn may drag a possessed person or someone who is not possessed, pull the mat on which he sits, shift equipment, move things from place to place, and perform other such acts. Those who witness these things gain indubitable knowledge that what speaks through the human being’s tongue and moves these bodies is a kind of being other than a human.
None of the imams of the Muslims denies that a jinn can enter the body of a possessed person or anyone else. Whoever denies this and claims that the Sacred Law rejects it has falsely attributed that claim to the Sacred Law. There is nothing in the scriptural evidence that negates it.
As for treating the possessed with healing recitations and invocations for protection, this falls into
