Majmu' al-Fatawa - Ibn Taimiya - (24/163)

Chapter: The Friday Prayer

Shaykh al-Islām—may Allah have mercy on him—said:

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

We seek His help. May Allah bless our master Muhammad and all his family and Companions.

From Ahmad ibn ʿAbd al-Halīm ibn ʿAbd al-Salām Ibn Taymiyyah to all believers and Muslims whom this letter reaches, among the people of Bahrain and elsewhere, and especially to those of knowledge and religious devotion. Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

To proceed:

I praise Allah before you: there is no deity worthy of worship except Him. He is worthy of praise and has power over all things. I ask Him to bless the chosen one of His creation, Muhammad, His servant and Messenger and the last of His prophets, whom He sent with clear proofs, guidance, and the religion of truth, to make it prevail over all other religions. Allah suffices as a witness. May Allah bless him and his family and grant him abundant peace.
