He was asked:

“An imam says from the pulpit during his Friday sermon: ‘Allah spoke with eternal, beginningless speech consisting of neither letters nor sound.’ Does Friday prayer behind him discharge the obligation or not? And what is required of him?”

He replied:

Ahl al-Sunnah wa-l-Jamā‘ah agree that the Quran is the speech of Allah, revealed and uncreated, and that this Quran which people recite is the speech of Allah, which they recite with their own voices. The speech is the Creator’s, while the voice is the reciter’s. The Quran in its entirety—its letters and its meanings—is the speech of Allah. If the imam adheres to religious innovation, Friday prayer is nevertheless to be performed behind him, and doing so discharges the obligation. And Allah knows best.

He—may Allah have mercy on him—was asked:

“Is prayer behind an imam who killed his paternal cousin valid or not?”

He replied:

If this man has deliberately and unlawfully killed a Muslim,
