Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

He was asked:

Does the prohibition against passing in front of someone praying apply to a person praying behind an imam, just as it applies to the imam and someone praying alone?

He replied:

The prohibition applies only to passing in front of the imam or someone praying alone. They cited as evidence the hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās—may Allah be pleased with them both. And Allah knows best.
