Likewise, seeking relief includes a form that is appropriate only to Allah, as indicated by His words:

“You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.”

For only Allah can provide help in worship in its absolute sense. A created being may, however, be asked for help with what lies within its power. The same applies to seeking support. Allah Most High says:

“And if they seek your help in religion, you must help them.”

Support in its absolute sense consists in creating the means by which the enemy is overcome, and only Allah has the power to do this.

Whoever opposes what is established by the Quran and Sunnah is either an unbeliever, a transgressor, or a sinner—unless he is a believer who exercises independent judgment but errs, in which case he is rewarded for his effort and forgiven for his error. The same applies if he has not received the knowledge by which the proof would be established against him, for Allah says:

“We never punish until We have sent a messenger.”

But if the proof established by the Quran and Sunnah has been established against him and he opposes it, he is punished accordingly, either by execution or by a lesser punishment. And Allah knows best.
