them:
“When the hypocrites come to you, they say, ‘We testify that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah.’ Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars.”
He Most High also said concerning them:
“Have you not seen those who take as allies a people with whom Allah is angry? They belong neither to you nor to them, and they knowingly swear to lies.”
These hypocrites who ally themselves with the Jews, with whom Allah is angry, belong neither to the Jews nor to us. Such are those among the Jews, Christians, Tatars, and others who outwardly profess Islam while their hearts remain with their own people. Such a person is neither a true believer nor a disbeliever both outwardly and inwardly. These are the wavering ones whom Allah and His Messenger condemned. Allah has obliged His servants to be believers, neither disbelievers nor hypocrites, but rather to love for Allah’s sake, hate for Allah’s sake, give for Allah’s sake, and withhold for Allah’s sake.
Allah Most High said:
“O you who believe, do not take the Jews and Christians as allies. They are allies of one another. Whoever among you takes them as allies is indeed one of them.”
Then, further on, He says:
“Your allies are none but Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe—those who establish prayer, give zakat, and bow down in worship.”
“Whoever takes Allah, His Messenger, and the believers as allies—then surely the party of Allah will prevail.”
He Most High also said:
“O you who believe, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, offering them affection when they have disbelieved in the truth that has come to you,”
and the rest of the verse.
He Most High also said:
“You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day showing affection to those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they are their fathers, their sons, their brothers, or their kindred.
