Majmu' al-FatawaIbn Taimiya

one who does this, does not obey Allah’s commands, and does not refrain from what he has been forbidden? Even when a scholar gives him a ruling, he insults him. Is the ruler obliged to restrain and stop him and restore the endowment to its former state?

He replied:

No animals may be slaughtered in a mosque, whether sacrificial animals or otherwise. How could this be permissible when prayer in a slaughterhouse specifically set aside for slaughter is deemed objectionable—either prohibited or merely disliked? How, then, can a mosque be made to resemble a slaughterhouse? This would contaminate the mosque with blood, something from which it must be kept free.

Likewise, no deceased person may be buried in a mosque, whether a child, an adult, a fetus, or anyone else. Mosques must not be made to resemble cemeteries. Altering an endowment without any benefit is also impermissible, as is cleansing oneself after relieving oneself in a mosque.

As for performing ablution in a mosque, scholars disagree over whether it is disliked. The stronger view is that it is not disliked unless accompanied by blowing one’s nose or spitting in the mosque. Spitting in a mosque is a sin, and its expiation is to bury the spittle. How much more objectionable, then, is nasal mucus!

Anyone who does not obey what Allah has commanded or refrain from what He has forbidden, but instead rebuffs those who enjoin good and forbid evil, is to receive a punishment prescribed by Islamic law that will compel him and others like him to fulfil their obligations and refrain from prohibited acts.
