He was also asked—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—about the words of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:
“You will come on the Day of Resurrection with your faces and limbs shining from the effects of ablution.”
This describes those who pray. How, then, will others be recognized—those who are religiously accountable but abandon prayer, and children?
He replied:
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all worlds. This hadith indicates that only those whose faces and limbs shine will be recognized: those who perform ablution for prayer. As for children, they are included with the man.
As for anyone who has never performed ablution or prayed, this hadith indicates that he will not be recognized on the Day of Resurrection.
{إنَّكُمْ تَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ آثَارِ الْوُضُوءِ}
