wine, on the grounds that it increases his thirst. As for performing ablution with water from which a dog has lapped, the overwhelming majority of scholars do not permit it; one must resort instead to dry ablution.
A person compelled by necessity must eat and drink whatever will sustain his life. Whoever is compelled to consume carrion or impure water but refuses to eat or drink until he dies will enter the Fire. If he finds someone else desperately needing the water he has, whether clean or impure, he must give it to him to drink and resort to dry ablution himself, whether he is in a state of major or minor ritual impurity.
Whoever performs the full ritual bath and ablution while a Muslim, a non-Muslim under Muslim protection, or one of their animals whose lives are protected is desperately in need of water, yet fails to give it water, is sinful and disobedient. Allah knows best.
