They love the household of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and are loyal to them. They uphold the Messenger’s counsel concerning them, given on the day of Ghadīr Khumm:

“I remind you of your duty to Allah regarding my household. I remind you of your duty to Allah regarding my household.”

He also said to his uncle al-‘Abbās—who had complained to him that some of Quraysh treated Banū Hāshim coldly:

“By Him in whose hand is my soul, they will not believe until they love you for Allah’s sake and because of your kinship with me.”

He also said:

“Allah chose the descendants of Ishmael, and from the descendants of Ishmael He chose Kinānah; from Kinānah He chose Quraysh; from Quraysh He chose Banū Hāshim; and from Banū Hāshim He chose me.”

They hold the wives of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—the Mothers of the Believers—in love and loyalty, and believe that they will be his wives in the Hereafter. This applies especially to Khadījah, may Allah be pleased with her, the mother of most of his children, the first to believe in him and support him in his mission, who held a lofty place in his esteem; and to the eminently truthful woman, daughter of the eminently truthful man—may Allah be pleased with them both—of whom the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“‘Ā’ishah’s superiority over other women is like the superiority of tharīd (bread soaked in broth) over all other food.”

They disavow the way of the Rāfidah, who hate the Companions and revile them, and the way of the Nawāsib, who harm the Prophet’s household through word or deed. They refrain from discussing the disputes that arose among the Companions.
