one-third of the Quran, where He says:

“Say: He is Allah, the One.”

“Allah, the Eternal Refuge.”

“He neither begets nor is born.”

“Nor is there anyone equal to Him.”

Also included are the attributes with which He describes Himself in the greatest verse of His Book, where He says:

“Allah—there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not weary Him. He is the Most High, the Most Great.”

For this reason, whoever recites this verse at night remains under the protection of a guardian from Allah, and no devil approaches him until morning.

And His saying—glorified be He:

“And put your trust in the Ever-Living, who does not die.”

And His saying—glorified be He:

“He is the First and the Last, the Most High and the Most Near, and He has knowledge of all things.”

And His saying:

“And He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.”

“He knows what enters the earth and what emerges from it, what descends from heaven and what ascends into it.”

“And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. He knows whatever is on land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls without His knowing it, nor is there a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything moist or dry, except that it is in a clear record.”

And His saying:

“And no female conceives or gives birth except with His knowledge.”

And His saying:

“So that you may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah encompasses all things in knowledge.”
