Moreover, scholars frequently disagree. If, whenever someone takes a position contrary to a report containing a stern warning, that warning is no longer affirmed or the report is not acted upon at all, the resulting dangers—disbelief and departure from the religion—would be beyond description. Even if the danger of this course were not greater than that of the preceding one, it would be no less.
We must therefore believe in the Scripture and follow everything sent down to us from our Lord. We must not believe in part of the Scripture while disbelieving in another, or let our hearts incline to following some of the Sunnah while recoiling from accepting other parts, according to habit and desire. This is a departure from the straight path onto the path of those who have incurred wrath and those who have gone astray.
May Allah enable us to say and do what He loves and is pleased with, granting us and all Muslims goodness and well-being. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all worlds. May Allah bestow His blessings and abundant peace upon our master Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets; upon his good and pure family, his chosen Companions, his wives—the Mothers of the Believers—and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
