(1) In other copies: “Sheikh Abu Bakr ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn an-Naqqūr narrated it to me, reciting it as I listened.”
(2) Other manuscripts read “al-Tabarī,” which is incorrect.
(3) In the original it appears as “Bashār,” which is erroneous; it should be Sayyār as in the other copies—namely Sayyār ibn Ḥātim al-‘Anazī. Al-Dhahabī comments that the hadith is sound and was authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān. It is narrated by Ja‘far ibn Sulaymān. See al-Mīzān, 2:253.
(4) It is recorded by al-Alqā’ī in Sharḥ Uṣūl I‘tiqād Ahl al-Sunnah, hadith no. 669, vol. 2, p. 400; by al-Ṭabarī in his Tafsīr, 28:12; and al-Dhahabī includes it in al-Uluww, affirming its authenticity (p. 96). Al-Albānī states in Mukhtaṣar al-Uluww (p. 99) that its isnād is sound.
(5) Not present in the original manuscript.
(6) Other copies read “Thābit ibn Bundārīn.”
(7) Other copies read “Mukhallad ibn Ja‘far.”
(8) In manuscript (h): “Husayn”; in (m) and (r): “al-Husayn.”
