The Underlying Cause of the Muslims’ Humiliation:
It is imperative at this point to clarify a matter of great importance that many people overlook. I say, then, that the reason the Muslims persist in their present state of humiliation—and that some Muslim lands have been subjugated by the unbelievers, even by the Jews—is not, as some imagine, the scholars’ ignorance of contemporary realities or their failure to uncover the unbelievers’ schemes and conspiracies.
