Mukhtaṣar al-ShamāʾilAl-Tirmidhi

204 – (sound)

From him:
A man of the desert named Zāhir used to bring the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gifts from the steppe, and whenever he wished to return home the Prophet would outfit him for the journey. The Prophet said, “Zāhir is our desert-dweller, and we are his townsfolk.” He, peace and blessings be upon him, loved him, although the man was of unattractive appearance.

One day the Prophet came to him while he was selling his goods. The Prophet embraced him from behind while he could not see who it was. Zāhir cried out, “Who is this? Let me go!” ⦗127⦘
