136 – (Sound)
Hakim ibn Jabir narrates from his father, who said:

“I entered upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw pumpkin being cut up before him. I asked, ‘What is this?’ He replied, ‘We use it to make our food go further.’

Abu ‘Īsā said: This Jabir is Jabir ibn Tariq—some say ibn Abī Tariq—one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We know no other hadith from him besides this single report.”
