135 – (Sound)
On the authority of Anas b. Mālik who said:
“The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked pumpkin. Whenever food was brought to him, or he was invited to a meal, I would follow the pieces of pumpkin and set them before him, for I knew he was fond of it.”
(Sound) And through a second route (163):
“A tailor invited the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to a meal he had prepared,” Anas related. “I went with the Messenger of Allah to that meal, and he placed before the Messenger of Allah barley bread and broth—[in a third transmission: a dish of thareed topped with pumpkin / 334]—in which there were pieces of pumpkin and dried meat. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) searching out the pumpkin around the edge of the bowl [for he loved pumpkin]. From that day onward I have loved pumpkin myself.” ⦗92⦘
