131 – (Sahih)

Zahdam al-Jarmi reported:

We were with Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari when some chicken meat was brought in, and one of the men drew back.

Abu Musa asked, “What is the matter with you?”

He replied, “I once saw it eating something repulsive, so I swore I would never eat it.”

Abu Musa said, “Come closer, for I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, eating chicken meat.”

Another version states:

We were in the company of Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari. He set out his food, and among it was chicken meat. In the group there was a reddish-complexioned man from Banu Taym Allah, looking like a client. He did not come forward, so Abu Musa said to him… ⦗90⦘
