ʿAmr ibn ʿĪsā Abū Naʿāmah al-ʿAdawī said:
“I heard Khālid ibn ʿUmayr and Shuways Abū ar-Raqād say: ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb dispatched ʿUtbah ibn Ghazwān and instructed him, ‘Set out—you and those with you—until you reach the furthest edge of the land… ⦗82⦘’”}

عَمْرُو بْنُ عِيسَى أَبُو نَعَامَةَ الْعَدَوِيُّ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ خَالِدَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ وَشُوَيْسًا أَبَا الرَّقَادِ قَالَا: بَعَثَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ عُتْبَةَ بْنَ غَزْوَانَ وَقَالَ: انْطَلِقْ أَنْتَ وَمَنْ مَعَكَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنْتُمْ فِي أَقْصَى بِلَادِ
