108 – Sound

Muhammad ibn Sīrīn said:

“We were sitting with Abū Hurayrah while he was dressed in two striped linen garments. He blew his nose into one of them and exclaimed, ‘Bravo, bravo! Abū Hurayrah now blows his nose into linen! I remember myself collapsing unconscious between the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the apartment of ʿĀʾishah. A passer-by would come and press his foot on my neck, thinking I was insane. I was not insane at all; it was nothing but hunger.’”
