Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī (Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked my maternal uncle, Hind ibn Abī Hālah—who was known for his skill in portraying people—about the physical features of the Prophet ﷺ, for I longed to hear a description I could hold fast to. He replied:

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was august and held in great esteem; his face gleamed like the full moon on a clear night. He was taller than a medium-statured man yet shorter than one who is markedly tall. His head was large, and his hair was wavy: if it happened to part naturally he would leave it parted, otherwise it did not extend beyond his earlobes. ⦗18⦘
