I say: Its chain is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
In another report, Ibn Sīrīn said:
“The son of Mary will descend wearing his armour and two pale-yellow garments, between the call to prayer and the call for it to begin. They will say to him, ‘Step forward.’ He will reply, ‘Rather, let your own imam lead you in prayer. Some of you are leaders over others.’”
Recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq (20838).
Its chain is authentic and ends with a Successor. Nevertheless, the report is deemed Prophetic in origin, with the link between the Successor and the Prophet omitted.
In another report, Maʿmar said:
“According to Ibn Sīrīn, he was the Mahdī behind whom Jesus would pray.”
Recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq (20839).
A fifth chain from Abū Hurayrah traces the following wording back to the Prophet:
“Jesus son of Mary will descend, kill the swine, and efface the cross. A congregation will be assembled for him. He will distribute wealth until no one accepts it, and abolish the tax. He will stop at al-Rawhāʾ and perform Hajj from there, or ʿumrah, or combine the two.”
He said: “Abū Hurayrah then recited: ‘There is none of the People of the Book who will not believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.’ [al-Nisāʾ: 159] Hanzalah reported that Abū Hurayrah explained ‘believe in him before his death’ as referring to Jesus. I do not know whether all of this is a hadith of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, or whether some of it was said by Abū Hurayrah.”
Recorded by Ahmad (2/290–291).
I say: Its chain is authentic according to Muslim’s criteria. Muslim included from it the account of his stopping at al-Rawhāʾ
