with a warning such as no prophet has given his people: he is one-eyed, whereas Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is not one-eyed. Between his eyes is written ‘disbeliever,’ which every believer will read.”
Ahmad (6/ 139–140) and Ibn Mandah (97/ 2 and 100/ 1) recorded it.
I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic.
Third: Ibn ʿUmar reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Every prophet before me described him to his people, and I shall describe him in a way that none before me has: he is one-eyed, whereas Allah, blessed and exalted is He, is not one-eyed. His right eye is like a floating grape.”
Ahmad (2/ 27) and his son in al-Sunnah (140) recorded it through Ibn Ishāq, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar.
Juwayriyah also transmitted it from Nāfiʿ in similar wording, with an addition.
Al-Bukhārī, Muslim, and others also recorded a similar version through another chain from him. It has already been cited (p. 51).
Fourth: Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqās reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“I shall describe the Dajjāl in a way that none before me has: he is one-eyed, whereas Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is not one-eyed.”
Ahmad (1/ 176 and 182), his son in al-Sunnah (137), and al-Dānī (130/ 2) recorded it through Muhammad ibn Ishāq, from Dāwūd ibn ʿĀmir ibn Saʿd ibn Mālik, from his father, from his grandfather.
