Second: Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“No prophet failed to warn his people against the one-eyed liar. Take heed: he is blind in one eye, whereas your Lord is not blind in one eye. Written between his eyes are the letters k, f, r [which every Muslim will read].”
Recorded by al-Bukhārī (13/85), Muslim (8/195), Abū Dāwūd (2/213), al-Tirmidhī (2246), who graded it authentic, Ahmad (3/103, 173, 276 and 290), Hanbal (fol. 51/2), Ibn Khuzaymah in al-Tawhīd (p. 32), and Ibn Mandah (97/1). The addition is found in the versions of Muslim, Ahmad, and others.
On the same subject, there are reports from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī in al-Majmaʿ (7/336–337); from Asmāʾ bint Yazīd al-Ansāriyyah, which will follow, Allah willing (pp. 75–77); from ʿĀʾishah, which will follow shortly (p. 59); and also from Umm Salamah (p. 60).
2 - This passage occurs in separate parts in two or more hadiths:
First: Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said (I say: he related the hadith concerning the merit of prayer in the mosque of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace):
“For I am the last of the prophets, and my mosque is the last of the mosques.”
Recorded by Muslim (4/135).
There are a great many corroborating reports, such as the well-known hadith concerning ʿAlī:
“You are to me as Aaron was to Moses, except that there is no prophet after me.”
Recorded by Ahmad, al-Bukhārī, Muslim, and others through various chains of transmission, which there is no room to list here.
