precedes it without also escaping it. No trial—small or great—has arisen since the world began except as a prelude to the trial of the Dajjāl.”
Ahmad (5/389) and Ibn Hibbān (1897) recorded it. (1)
I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic, and its narrators are trustworthy narrators whose reports were included by al-Bukhārī and Muslim. Al-Haythamī (7/335) said:
“Ahmad and al-Bazzār recorded it, and its narrators are those of al-Sahīh.”
The fourth: From Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh; his hadith will appear below (pp. 89–90).
2 - This passage is corroborated by the following hadiths:
The first: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said:
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stood before the people and praised Allah as He deserves, then mentioned the Dajjāl, saying:
“Indeed, I warn you against him. There is no prophet who did not warn his people against him. [Noah indeed warned his people against him.] But I shall tell you something about him that no prophet told his people: [Know] that he is blind in one eye, whereas Allah is not blind in one eye.”
Recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in al-Musannaf (11/390/20820), and through him by Ahmad (2/149)
