The Hadith of Abū Umāmah, May Allah Be Pleased with Him, with Its Source Documentation
(1 - O people! Since Allah created Adam’s descendants, there has never been a trial on the face of the earth greater than the trial of the Dajjāl.
- Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has never sent a prophet who did not warn his nation against the Dajjāl.
- I am the last of the prophets, and you are the last of the nations.
- He will certainly emerge among you.
- If he emerges while I am among you, I will contend with him on behalf of every Muslim. If he emerges after me, each person will have to contend with him on his own behalf, and Allah will watch over every Muslim in my stead.
- He will emerge from a passage between the Levant and Iraq and wreak havoc to the right and to the left. O servants of Allah, stand firm!
- I will describe him to you in a way no prophet before me has done:
- He will begin by saying, “I am a prophet”—but there is no prophet after me.
- Then he will go on to say, “I am your Lord.” Yet you will not see your Lord until you die.
- He is one-eyed, but your Lord is not one-eyed.
- Between his eyes is written: “Disbeliever.”
- Every believer will read it, whether literate or illiterate.
