26 – Before the Dajjāl emerges, there will indeed be three years of hardship during which people will suffer severe hunger. In the first year, Allah will command the sky to withhold a third of its rain, and He will command the earth, and it will withhold a third of its vegetation. Then, in the second year, He will command the sky, and it will withhold two-thirds of its rain; He will command the earth, and it will withhold two-thirds of its vegetation. Then, in the third year, Allah will command the sky, and it will withhold all its rain, so that not a single drop falls. He will command the earth, and it will withhold all its vegetation, so that nothing green grows. Every cloven-hoofed animal will perish, except those Allah wills to spare.
