and then they will say a third time, ‘There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.’ A way will open for them, and they will enter it and take its spoils.”)

Then, while they are dividing the spoils, having hung their swords on the olive trees, Satan will cry out among them, “The Messiah [the Dajjāl] has come upon your families in your absence!” [They will drop what they are holding.] They will set out, though the report will be false. [They will send ten horsemen ahead as scouts. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Indeed, I know their names, their fathers’ names, and the colors of their horses. They will be the finest horsemen on earth that day.”] When they reach Greater Syria, he will emerge.]

24 – There will be no part of the earth that he does not set foot on and gain mastery over, except [four mosques: the mosque of] Mecca and [the mosque of] Medina [and Mount Sinai and al-Aqsā Mosque].

25 – His days will number forty: one day like a year, one day like a month, and one day like a week; the rest of his days will be like your days.

They asked, “On that day which is like a year, will a single day’s prayers suffice for us?” He replied, “No. Estimate the prayer times for it.”

They asked, “How swiftly will he travel across the earth?” He replied, “Like rain driven along by the wind.”]
