to the state it was in during Adam’s time. A cluster—meaning a bunch of grapes—will feed a whole group of people, as will a single pomegranate.”

I say: Its chain to the Successor is authentic, but the link to the Prophet is omitted. Its narrators are trustworthy and are all among those used by al-Bukhārī and Muslim.

45 - Corroboration for this passage has already been cited in the preceding report of Tāwūs and in the previously mentioned chains of the hadith of Abū Hurayrah. One chain remains to be cited; it corroborates parts of this passage for which no supporting report has yet been presented—its opening sentence, among others. It is therefore necessary to quote it. It is transmitted by Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man, from Abū Hurayrah, who said:

“The Hour will not come until Jesus son of Mary descends as a just leader, and Quraysh [will be stripped] (1) of authority. He will kill the swine and break the cross, and the jizyah tax will be abolished. There will be one prostration to the Lord of the worlds. War will cease, and the earth will be filled with Islam as wells are filled with water. The earth will be like a silver fāthūr (2) (meaning a dining table). Rancour and enmity will be removed. A wolf will be among the sheep as though it were their dog, and a lion will be among the camels as though it were their breeding male.”
