The second: From Jābir, previously cited (pp. 89–90), with the wording:
“Seventy thousand Jews will be with him, each wearing a cloak and carrying an ornamented sword.”
The third: A similar report from ʿUthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀs, without mention of the sword, previously cited (pp. 94–95).
The fourth: From Abū Saʿīd, traced back to the Prophet, likewise with similar wording and without mention of the sword.
It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq (20825), through Abū Hārūn, from him. Abū Hārūn, however, is rejected as a transmitter.
The fifth: From Abū Hurayrah, traced back to the Prophet, with the wording:
“The Dajjāl will surely come to Khūz and Kirmān with seventy thousand men whose faces are like overlaid shields.”
It was recorded by Ahmad (2/ 337). Its transmitters are trustworthy, were it not for Ibn Ishāq’s use of the transmission formula ʿan (‘from’).
