Ziyārat al-QubūrIbn Taimiya

ignorant, and anyone who repents before death has indeed repented in due time.

This is not the place to elaborate on the overriding harms found in what Allah has prohibited or the weighty benefits embedded in what He has commanded. It is enough for the believer to know that whatever Allah enjoins is either pure benefit or predominantly beneficial, and whatever He forbids is either pure harm or predominantly harmful. Allah does not command His servants because He needs anything from them, nor does He forbid them out of stinginess toward them. Rather, He commands only what brings about their well-being and forbids only what leads to their ruin. For this reason He described His Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—as:

“He enjoins them to what is right and forbids them from what is wrong, makes lawful for them all that is wholesome, and makes unlawful for them all that is vile.” ⦗Q 7:157⦘
