It is also reported that he taught his daughter Fāṭimah to say:
“Yā Ḥayy, Yā Qayyūm (O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining), Yā Badīʿ as-samāwāti wa-l-arḍ (O Originator of the heavens and the earth), there is no god but You. By Your mercy I seek relief; set right all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself for the blink of an eye, nor to any one of Your creation.”
In the Musnad of Imām Aḥmad and the Ṣaḥīḥ of Abū Ḥātim al-Bustī it is narrated from Ibn Masʿūd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said:
“No servant is ever touched by worry or grief and then says: ‘O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand; Your command over me is ever-effective and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that is Yours—whether You have named Yourself with it, revealed it in Your Book, taught it to any of Your creation, or kept it unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen—that You make the Magnificent Qur’an the spring of my heart and the light of my breast,’”}
