Al-Junayd ibn Muhammad said: “All paths are closed to people except those who follow in the footsteps of the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.” He also said: “Whoever has not memorized the Quran and recorded hadith is not to be followed in this matter, for this knowledge of ours is bound by the Book and the Sunnah.”
Abū ʿUthmān said: “Whoever makes the Sunnah govern his words and deeds speaks with wisdom; whoever makes his desires govern his words and deeds speaks with innovation. Allah Most High says: ‘If you obey him, you will be guided.’ [Surah al-Nūr 54]”
Abū Hamzah al-Baghdādī said: “Whoever knows the path to Allah finds it easy to travel, and there is no
وَقَالَ الْجُنَيْد بن مُحَمَّد الطّرق كلهَا مسدودة على الْخلق إِلَّا من اقتفى أثر الرَّسُول صلى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسلم وَقَالَ ايضا من لم يحفظ الْقُرْآن وَيكْتب الحَدِيث لَا يقْتَدى بِهِ فِي هَذَا الْأَمر لِأَن علمنَا هَذَا مُقَيّد بِالْكتاب وَالسّنة
وَقَالَ أَبُو عُثْمَان من امْر السّنة على نَفسه قولا وفعلا نطق بالحكمة وَمن أَمر الْهوى على نَفسه قولا وفعلا نطق بالبدعة قَالَ الله تَعَالَى وَإِن تطيعوه تهتدوا

وَقَالَ أَبُو حَمْزَة الْبَغْدَادِيّ من علم الطَّرِيق إِلَى الله سهل عَلَيْهِ سلوكه وَلَا
