rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors, and grant us from Yourself a protector, and grant us from Yourself a helper.’”
Surah al-Nisā’, 75.
Concerning migration, He said:
“Except the oppressed among men, women, and children who have no means and cannot find a way. These are the ones whom Allah may pardon.”
Surah al-Nisā’, 99.
In the two Sahīh collections, Abū Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate in his prayer:
“O Allah, rescue ‘Ayyāsh ibn Abī Rabī‘ah and Salamah ibn Hishām. O Allah, rescue al-Walīd ibn al-Walīd. O Allah, rescue the oppressed believers. O Allah, intensify Your punishment upon Mudar, and afflict them with years of famine like those in the time of Joseph.”
Also recorded in the Sahīh, in the account of al-Hudaybiyyah, is the story of Abū Jandal ibn Suhayl ibn ‘Amr: he came dragging his shackles, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him back to them. It also contains the story of Abū Basīr and others among the oppressed.
