Surah al-Nisā’ 125
Allah thus denies that any religion is better than this: submitting oneself to Allah while doing good. He also declares that:
“Whoever submits himself to Allah and does good will have his reward with his Lord. No fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.”
Surah al-Baqarah 112
He affirms this comprehensive statement and general principle to refute those who claim that none will enter Paradise unless they embrace Judaism or Christianity.
These two qualities—submitting oneself to Allah and doing good—are the two principles mentioned earlier: that one’s words and deeds should be sincerely devoted to Allah and correct, in accordance with the Sunnah and the revealed Law. Submitting oneself to Allah entails devoting one’s purpose and intention sincerely to Him, as someone said:
I ask Allah’s forgiveness for sins beyond my counting—
The Lord of all servants, to whom my face and knowledge are directed.
