you say about Allah what you do not know.’” (Surah al-Aʿrāf, 33)
Many of these people deny only in words that worshipping in this way is permissible, yet their conduct is that of someone who does so. They even advise one another that the aspirant following the spiritual path should choose for himself a form on which to concentrate, then ascend from it to Allah, or that he beholds Allah in it.
Section: Enjoining What Is Right and Forbidding What Is Wrong
It is with enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong that Allah sent down
تَقولُوا على الله مَا لَا تعلمُونَ سُورَة الاعراف ٣٣
وَكثير من هَؤُلَاءِ انما يُنكر بِكَلَامِهِ اباحة ذَلِك التَّعَبُّد بِهِ وَلَكِن حَاله حَال من يتعبد بِهِ حَتَّى انهم يتواصون فِيمَا بَينهم بِأَن المريد السالك يَنْبَغِي ان يتَّخذ لنَفسِهِ صُورَة يجْتَمع عَلَيْهَا ثمَّ يترقى مِنْهَا الى الله اَوْ انه يُشَاهد فِيهَا الله
فصل فِي الامر بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْي عَن الْمُنكر
الامر بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْي عَن الْمُنكر هُوَ الَّذِي انْزِلْ الله بِهِ
