And He Most High said:

“Those who say, ‘Allah is the third of three,’ have certainly disbelieved. There is no god except One God. If they do not desist from what they say, a painful punishment will surely afflict those among them who disbelieve. Will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (Sūrah al-Mā’idah, 73–74).

He also said:

“Tell those who disbelieve that if they desist, their past sins will be forgiven” (Sūrah al-Anfāl, 38).

Whoever repents of these corrupt beliefs—regarding something forbidden as lawful or making it a religious practice—Allah will accept his repentance. As for someone who regards such a thing as lawful or makes it a religious practice, even without doing it, someone who commits it while believing it to be forbidden is better than him. The latter is a sinful believer, whereas regarding these things as lawful and making them religious practices constitutes disbelief.

As for the proponents of unrestricted permissibility, who regard no indecency or anything else as forbidden, they are disbelievers whose disbelief is among the gravest.
