their hearts because of what they used to earn’ (Sūrah al-Mutaffifīn, 14).”
In Sahīh Muslim, Abū Mūsā reports that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Allah stretches out His hand at night so that those who sinned during the day may repent, and stretches out His hand during the day so that those who sinned during the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west.”
This subject is extensive.
Allah Most High accepts His servant’s repentance from all sins, whether shirk or anything less, as He Most High said:
“O My servants who have transgressed against themselves”—to the end of the verse (Sūrah al-Zumar, 53).
He also said:
“Indeed, those who persecuted the believing men and believing women and then did not repent”—to the end of the verse (Sūrah al-Burūj, 10).
And He Most High said:
“But if they repent, establish prayer and give zakāh, then they are your brothers in religion” (Sūrah al-Tawbah, 11).
