and peace be upon him): “There will be rulers after me whose conduct you will both approve and disapprove of. Whoever rejects their wrongdoing is free of blame, and whoever hates it is safe, but not whoever approves and follows.”

Allah Most High says:
“They swear to you so that you may be pleased with them. But even if you are pleased with them, Allah is not pleased with defiantly disobedient people.”
Surah al-Tawbah, 96.

Thus, our approval of defiantly disobedient people is not something Allah loves and approves of, for He is not pleased with them.

Allah Most High says:
“Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? Yet the enjoyment of this worldly life is but little compared with the Hereafter.”
Surah al-Tawbah, 38.

This is a form of contentment that Allah has condemned.

Allah Most High says:
“Indeed, those who do not expect to meet Us and are content with the life of this world and feel at ease in it”
Surah Yūnus, 7.

This too is blameworthy, and the evidence for this is abundant.
