—peace and blessings be upon him—and Mu‘ādh, the foremost of the regular prayer leaders in Medina during the Prophet’s lifetime, offered murmured supplications that revolved only around Paradise. Could anyone’s words, then, surpass those of Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), Mu‘ādh, and the Emigrants and Helpers who prayed behind them? Whatever this servant might seek, it would be found in Paradise. The people of Paradise are of two kinds: the foremost, who are brought near to Allah, and the righteous, the people of the right hand.
Allah Most High says:
“No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in ‘Illiyyūn. And what can make you know what ‘Illiyyūn is? It is a written record, witnessed by those brought near to Allah. Indeed, the righteous will be in bliss, gazing from adorned couches. You will recognize in their faces the radiance of bliss. They will be given sealed nectar to drink, its seal of musk—so for this let those who compete compete. It will be mixed with Tasnīm, a spring from which those brought near to Allah will drink.” (Surah al-Mutaffifīn, 18–27)
