Al-IstiqamaIbn Taimiya

And they related that Ibn ʿAqīl heard someone say, “I ask You for the delight of gazing upon Your Face,” and replied, “You there! Suppose He has a face—does He have a face that one can delight in gazing upon?”

Abū al-Maʿālī stated that Allah creates bliss for them through certain created things, accompanying the vision. As for experiencing bliss through the vision itself, he denied this, considering this denial one of the secrets of monotheism.

Most of those who affirm the vision acknowledge that the believers experience bliss through seeing their Lord. This is the position of the early generations of the Muslim community, its leading scholars, and the masters of the spiritual path.
