our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning the Children of Israel. Some of these reports, however, are known to be false, such as this one. Moses, peace be upon him, is among the greatest Messengers of firm resolve and the most eminent Messengers. How, then, can it be said that he cannot bear to perform deeds that would earn him Allah’s pleasure? Allah Most High is pleased with the earliest forerunners among the Emigrants and the Helpers, and those who followed them in righteousness. Would He not, then, be pleased with Moses son of ‘Imrān, to whom the Most Merciful spoke?
Allah Most High says:
“Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds—they are the best of all creatures. Their reward with their Lord is Gardens of everlasting residence beneath which rivers flow, where they will abide forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.” Sūrat al-Bayyinah, 867.
It is well known that Moses, peace be upon him, is among the best of those who believe and do righteous deeds.
