Likewise, if a woman or a boy is wicked, that wickedness deprives them of good character and piety, which are dearer to Allah than such beauty. It also incurs Allah’s hatred of indecency, of those who commit it, and of those with evil character, together with His loathing and anger toward them—all of which far outweigh the beauty in them that calls forth love.
The same applies to strength, even though it is one of the qualities of perfection that Allah loves. If it serves to support disbelief and wickedness, and Allah’s hatred and loathing of this, together with the loss it causes of the faith and righteous deeds He loves, far outweigh what is lovable in strength alone, then hatred predominates accordingly.
But when strength serves faith, the matter is as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“The strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer.”
It is well known that Allah loves good deeds and those who perform them, and hates evil deeds and those who commit them. He loves everything He has commanded, whether as an obligation or a recommendation, and every quality He has praised and commended, such as knowledge, faith, truthfulness, justice, piety, excellence in doing good, and others. He loves those who act justly, those who repeatedly repent, those who purify themselves, those who do good, and those who fight in His cause in ranks as though they were a firmly joined structure.
He hates disbelief in all its forms, injustice, lying, and indecencies, whether open or hidden. No one has greater protective jealousy than He, and He hates everything He has forbidden.
