And He said:
“And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and were certain of Our signs.” [Surah al-Sajdah 24]
And He said concerning the disbelievers:
“When it was said, ‘Indeed, Allah’s promise is true, and there is no doubt about the Hour,’ you said, ‘We do not know what the Hour is. We have only conjecture, and we are not certain.’” [Surah al-Jāthiyah 32]
Abū al-Qāsim said: “It is reported from Mujāhid, in explanation of the words of the Most High, ‘They will be delighted in a garden’ [Surah al-Rūm 15], that this means listening to the maidens with beautiful eyes, who say in delightful voices: ‘We are everlasting and shall never die; we live in bliss and shall never suffer.’”
This indicates that they will enjoy listening in the Hereafter. This has already been discussed: enjoying something in the Hereafter does not entail that it is a good or permissible activity in this world.
He also said: “It has been said: ‘Listening is a call, and ecstasy is intention.’”
This is an unqualified statement. What the listener hears may call him to truth at one time and to falsehood at another. The person experiencing ecstasy acts with intention, responding to a caller who may call to truth or may call to falsehood; for in the person experiencing ecstasy, you find desire and intention.
