this, it remains an idle diversion, as in the hadith recorded in the Sunan collections: a woman vowed to beat the tambourine upon the arrival of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. When ʿUmar arrived, the Prophet instructed her to stop, saying, “This is a man who does not like idle diversion.”
