And he said:

“Strive against the polytheists with your hands, your tongues, and your wealth.”

He would have a pulpit set up for Hassān to recite poetry satirizing the polytheists, and he said:

“O Allah, support him with the Holy Spirit.”

He, peace and blessings be upon him, also said to him:

“Indeed, the Holy Spirit is with you as long as you defend His Prophet.”

He said of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rawāhah:

“Indeed, you have a brother who does not utter obscenities.”
