and Musnad collections, among others. It is documented in al-Irwā’ (1319), and will appear again, together with the reason it was stated, under no. (336).
102 — (The hadith of Ibn Masūd containing the words, “women who alter Allah’s creation.”) p. 90
Authentic. It appears at the end of the hadith of Ibn Masūd that I cited earlier (94).
103 — (Saīd ibn Jubayr said: “There is no harm in using hair extensions.” (1)
It is stated in al-Fath: “Abū Dāwūd narrated it with an authentic chain of transmission.”) p. 90
Weak. Abū Dāwūd (4171) narrated it through Sharīk, from Sālim, from Saīd ibn Jubayr.
I say: Sharīk was Ibn Abd Allah al-Qādī al-Nakhaī. Al-Dhahabī included him in al-Duafā’ and said: “Al-Qattān said: ‘He consistently mixed things up.’ Abū Hātim said: ‘He made serious errors.’ Al-Dāraqutnī said: ‘He is not strong.’” Al-Hāfiz said in al-Taqrīb: “Truthful, but he made many mistakes. His memory deteriorated after he assumed the judgeship in Kūfa.”
