Authentic. It was also narrated by Abū Dāwūd and others, including al-Tirmidhī, who said, “It is good and authentic.” It is fully referenced in Hijāb al-Mar’a al-Muslima (p. 64, no. 1, al-Maktab al-Islāmī edition).
85 — (Abū Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “There are two types among the inhabitants of the Fire whom I have not seen: people carrying whips like the tails of cattle, with which they beat others—a reference to tyrannical rulers, the enemies of the people—and women who are clothed yet naked, leading others astray and themselves straying, their heads resembling the tilted humps of Bactrian camels. They will not enter Paradise or smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be detected from such-and-such a distance.” Narrated by Muslim.)
p. 83
Authentic. Muslim (6, 168, 8/155) and Ahmad (2/355–356, 440) narrated it through Suhayl ibn Abū Sālih, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, with the same wording. It also has a corroborating report from Ibn ‘Umar, which I cited in Hijāb al-Mar’a (p. 56).
86 — (The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—declared that it is forbidden for a woman to wear men’s clothing and forbidden for a man to wear women’s clothing.
Ahmad, Abū Dāwūd, al-Nasā’ī, Ibn Mājah, Ibn Hibbān in his Sahīh, and al-Hākim, who said: “It is authentic according to Muslim’s criteria.”) p. 84
Authentic. It is from the hadith of Abū Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:
“The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—cursed the man who wears women’s clothing and the woman who wears men’s clothing.”
It is fully referenced in the previous source (1/66).
