—is al-Tirmidhī’s, as given in the book. He said: “A sound and authentic hadith.” More than one transmitter narrated it from al-Sha‘bī, from al-Nu‘mān ibn Bashīr.
I say: This wording comes through Mujālid ibn Sa‘īd. Al-Hāfiz said in al-Taqrīb: “He is not strong, and his memory deteriorated toward the end of his life.”

Authentic. It was narrated by al-Bukhārī, Muslim, Abū Dāwūd, al-Nasā’ī, al-Tirmidhī, al-Dārimī, Ibn Mājah, Ibn al-Jārūd in al-Muntaqā, al-Bayhaqī, and Ahmad, from the hadith of ‘Ā’isha, may Allah be pleased with her. It is an excerpt from her hadith concerning the Makhzūmī woman who stole. I have quoted its wording and documented its sources in Irwā’ al-Ghalīl, no. (2316). May Allah facilitate its publication.

Authentic. Its sources are documented in al-Irwā’ under no. (9).
