and sound. Abū Fākhitah’s name is Saīd ibn Alāqah.” I say: Thuwayr is weak. Nevertheless, this hadith of his is sound, for it has numerous supporting reports that attest to its meaning, some of which al-Bukhārī included in the “Book of Gifts” in his Sahih.

They were told, ‘It is one of the people of the land,’ meaning one of the protected non-Muslim subjects. They replied, ‘A funeral procession passed by the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he stood up. He was told . . .’” to the end of the hadith.
